Juvederm® is a cosmetic treatment also known as a filler. It is used to help improve signs of aging, restore facial contours and helps plump the skin to give you a more youthful appearance. It works by adding volume to the facial tissue through its active ingredient, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body. It stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin (collagen). As you get older, the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases. The cheeks might start to flatten, skin becomes thinner and can begin to sag, wrinkles emerge... causing a natural loss of volume. This is where Juvederm® fillers come in.

There are different types of Juvederm® and although they are all in the same family, they are used for different things. The different formulations include Juvederm Ultra®, Juvederm Vollure®, Juvederm Voluma®. Some versions of the Juvederm formulation also contains lidocaine, a substance present in the Juvederm® fillers that improves patient comfort and makes the injection process far less painful.

Long lasting treatment that gives you smoother lines, voluminous cheeks and plumper lips.

Juvederm® has widespread application for treating soft and deep facial folds and wrinkles that may appear across the face. It is also effective for treating acne scars as well as plump lines. Juvederm® is largely applied for reduction of fine lines across the forehead and the brow and can be used to enhance cheek volume, jaw line and fill in hollows below the eye.

Results are often noticeable immediately after treatment is done. However, it can take anywhere from 7 to 10 days to see the ‘complete’ result and results often last eight months to one year. More often than not, more than one treatment will be required to get optimal results.
